Harumi was born and raised in Japan, and came to the U.S. to join her husband in the San Diego area. She was first introduced to egg art in 1998 when a friend brought her an egg craft kit and taught her how to use it. She was immediately drawn into the fun. She joined the IEAG in 2000 because she thought this was an excellent program to expand her knowledge and gain experience in egg art. She was awarded the “Master of Egg Art” in 2006. In 2007 she became a Master’s judge. She was selected as the California representative for the 2008 Easter Egg Roll and had a chance to visit the White House. She is looking forward to participating in egg shows, spending time with fellow egg artists and providing the Design of the Month to subscribers.
On June 6, 2015 Harumi achieved the Senior Master of Egg Art.
